Marquetry and the environment

The range of designs that can be created using marquetry, whether classical or contemporary, are as extensive and unique as the materials themselves.  Each leaf of veneer is as individual and beautiful as the tree it came from and choosing from a rainbow palette of colours, grain patterns, figures and burrs lends each commission its own special identity.

We work with every imaginable type of wood including familiar ones such as oak, walnut and sycamore as well as less well known exotics such as amboyna and movingue.  Our designs also incorporate mother of pearl and other types of shell and metals, including silver nickel and brass.

At Aryma we are committed to achieving environmental best practice by sourcing our materials from reputable suppliers who have a responsible environmental policy.  The veneers we purchase are, wherever possible, from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) registered companies.
